Union Gas bills to go up in 2019

Union Gas customers will notice an increase on their bill next month.

Customers in southwestern Ontario, including Sarnia-Lambton, will see an annual increase of about $55, or $4.58 more a month.

The utility said the change largely reflects forecasted increases in the price Union Gas expects to pay to buy natural gas supplies from the market.

The increase effective, January 1, 2019, is still close to five per cent lower than the hike experienced in January 2018.

Business customers in this region will see an annual increase of $1,808. That works out to about $150 more a month.

Union Gas adjusts the rates it charges its customers every three months.
