Teen charged with racing

On Friday afternoon around 2:00 p.m. a Lambton OPP officer on patrol noticed a small passenger vehicle in his rear view mirror traveling in the same direction on the west bound portion of the 402, at what appeared to be a high rate of speed.

As the target vehicle passed the OPP cruiser, through use of the on-board radar unit, the officer recorded a speed in excess of 160 km/hr in a posted 100 km/hr zone.

A short time later the target vehicle was stopped and the driver identified.

A 17-year-old male from Brantford was charged with Racing.

His driver's licence and motor vehicle were seized for seven days.
