Legionnaires tie first place Nationals

It was a wild one from the Brock Street Barn Thursday night, which saw the Sarnia Legionnaires and London Nationals play to a 6-6 tie.

Sarnia defenceman Max Hartwell scored twice in a span of 34 seconds late in the second to tie things at four.

The teams then traded goals in the final frame, but neither club was able to score in the first or second overtime.

The single point now gives the Legionnaires 37 points on the season, three points back of Leamington for the second spot in the GOJHL's Western Conference.

The Nationals, who sit atop the conference, have 49 points.

Sarnia is back in action January 10 when they host Komoka.
