Freezing rain and snow makes for messy Monday morning commute

We're in for a mixed bag of weather on Monday.

Environment Canada has issued a special weather statement for southwestern Ontario including Sarnia-Lambton, Chatham-Kent and London-Middlesex.

The national weather agency says an area of light snow or ice pellets will affect the region early this morning.

Snowfall accumulations are expected to be fairly light, with perhaps a couple of centimetres possible.

We could see some freezing rain as well, but it's expected to be fairly light.

Roads could still get slick, particularly on untreated surfaces.

We'll see unseasonably warm temperatures Monday afternoon with a high of 7 C (45 F).
