Big smiles at Pathways

Sarnia's Pathways Health Centre For Children recently got a makeover thanks to hard work from the Smilezone Foundation.

While the centre was closed for the holidays, the main waiting room and aquatics hallway were spruced up with a fresh coat of paint, and new seating areas. Murals were also painted and and tactile ceilings were installed.

Spokesperson Tracy Drysdale said the goal is to have a calming and welcoming atmosphere for the children.

"A lot of these children are in and out of hospitals and treatments a lot of times depending on their diagnosis," said Drysdale. "It's just kind of nice that they're coming into a nice, warm, cheery environment."

The renovations were free thanks to the Smilezone Foundation as well as a donation from an anonymous community member.

Pathways will have a ribbon-cutting ceremony for the public to view the upgrades on February 4.
