Preferred Towing featured again on Heavy Rescue 401

Sarnia's Preferred Towing is once again being featured on the hit Discovery Channel series Heavy Rescue 401.

Season three of the popular show premieres Tuesday night at 10 p.m., featuring dramatic recoveries along Ontario's 400 series highways.

Owner Gary Vandenheuvel said there was a tense moment involving his son Collin.

"We had a close call on one of our recoveries of one of the wrecks between Collin and I," said Vandenheuvel. "It was a close call for Collin while I was directing the wreck. It was a pretty scary and tense moment there. We'll highlight that as the season goes on."

Collin said the people they rescue are always appreciative.

"I think we do have quite a good return on investment there. People really seem to be happy with how we do and what they see out of us. We're proud to be showcasing Sarnia and tow truck drivers in a good light like that," said Collin.

Meanwhile, there's a public screening of the first episode being held on January 12 at the Dante Club.

Tickets to the screening, which comes with dinner, are being sold for $30.

Proceeds go toward helping the Vandenheuvels renovate the former ABC Daycare on London Road into transitional housing for homeless youth.
