Green Gods busted by city police

Sarnia police have shut down an illegal cannabis dispensary after it popped up in the plaza next to our Blackburn Radio studios on London Road over the holidays.

Vice Unit officers attended Green Gods Medical Dispensary on January 2, and advised the operators to cease operations immediately.

But, that didn't happen, so a search warrant was carried out Tuesday afternoon around 3:30 p.m.

About 2100 grams of marijuana bud, 13 grams of shatter, 71 joints and a small quantity of edibles were seized.

The total street value of the drugs seized was approximately $22,000.

Just over $5,000 in cash was also seized.

Three men have been arrested and charged with possessing cannabis for the purpose of sale.

Mitchell Joseph Cossette, 54, David Edward McGillivray, 49, and Robert Joseph Robichaud, 47, were being held in custody for a bail hearing.

As part of their advertising scheme, police say staff had been handing out business cards to local students offering them one free joint.
