Semi-truck crash closes I-69 in Michigan

Westbound I-69 east of Braidwood, Michigan was closed after a pair of semi-trucks crashed around 2:00 a.m Wednesday.

The St. Clair County Sheriff's office says a truck hauling cars lost control in icy conditions, went off the road, and jackknifed across both lanes of traffic.

Another semi, carrying aluminum shavings, struck the front of the car hauler causing aluminum shavings to be spilled on the road.

The car hauler was coming from Brampton, heading to Flint and the other semi was travelling to Coldwater from London.

Both drivers are charged with careless driving, but no injuries were reported.

Cleanup was expected to take several hours.
