Break and enter suspect arrested

Sarnia police have arrested a suspect in a string of break and enters to area businesses over the last month.

The incidents were reported between December 13 and January 14.

Members of the Sarnia Police Service Criminal Investigation Branch and the COPPS Unit, while conducting surveillance on a possible suspect Saturday, allegedly caught him in the act.

Police say a man was spotted in the 500 block of Murphy Road at around 12:30 a.m. trying to enter a business after kicking the glass door and then smashing it with a rock. The suspect, who was allegedly hiding inside the business, was arrested without incident

Joshua William Tomlinson, 33, of Sarnia is charged with disguise with intent and break and enter.

Police say he's also charged in connection with another incident on Murphy Road January 2 and remains a suspect in a number of other break and enters.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
