Another cold snap

It's going to remain unseasonably cold well into next week.

Lambton's Medical Officer of Health has issued another cold weather alert, the second in the past week.

The temperature is forecast to drop to -15 C, 5 F Friday night, with a wind chill near -26 C, -15 F.

Lambton Public Health says overexposure to cold temperatures can be hazardous and can lead to frostbite and hypothermia.

We're advised to take precautions by dressing in layers, shielding exposed areas from the cold wind like the head, neck and face and by limiting time spent outdoors, especially at night.

The alert is expected to remain in effect until Saturday, with a low of -11 C forecast Saturday night.

Daytime highs, however, will remain well below the seasonal norm of -3 C through most of next week.
