UPDATE: Water main break shuts down Petrolia facilities

A water main break shut down Petrolia roads and facilities Friday into Saturday.

Town hall was closed, due to a lack of water, as a result of a break at the corner of Greenfield Street and Petrolia Line that occurred Thursday evening.

Greenfield Street from Petrolia Line to Walnut Street finally reopened by about 10 a.m. Saturday.

Water was shut off at Tank Street and Petrolia Line.

The town said businesses and residents on the north side of Petrolia Line, from Station Street east to Tank Street and those on the south side of Petrolia Line from Greenfield Street East to Oil Street would be without water while repairs were made.

The Lambton County Library – Petrolia Branch was also closed Friday.

The Victoria Playhouse Petrolia Box Office was closed, and the 6:30 p.m. screening of the Black Gold/Black Donnelleys films was cancelled.

VPP staff were calling ticket holders Friday afternoon offering alternative dates of Saturday February 2, at 1 p.m., February 2, at 6:30 p.m., or March 1, at 6:30 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
