Hugo Leufvenius scored twice, including the game-winner, as the Sarnia Sting beat the Battalion 5-4 in overtime at North Bay.
Sarnia maintains its third-place showing in the OHL West Division, with 51 points, and the seventh playoff seed in the Western Conference.
North Bay scored first when Brandon Coe scored his 11th goal of the year at 8:09 in the first period. It was just over a minute later, however, that Sarnia evened the score on a Curtis Egert goal.
The Sting took their first lead of the game at just over the halfway mark of the second frame, as Leufvenius collected his 29th goal of the season and his first of the contest. The Battalion fired back before the second intermission when Simon Rose put one past Sting goalie Ethan Langevin.
The Battalion put up back-to-back goals in the third period, from Justin Brazeau and Harrison Caines, but the Sting fought back and forced overtime with back-to-back goals of their own. Jacob Perreault scored on the power play, and Mitch Eliot picked up the equalizer. Leufvenius' overtime winner came at the three-minute mark of overtime.
Langevin ended up with 29 saves out of 33 shots. Christian Propp took the loss for North Bay, with 32 stops.
The Sting head to Guelph on Friday night to take on the Storm.
