Drunk driving suspect allegedly tried to bite officer

One of two Sarnia women charged with impaired driving over the weekend allegedly tried to bite a police officer.

At around 12:30 a.m. Sunday, an officer spotted a vehicle in the area of Maxwell and Collingwood streets with no lights on, making unsafe stops, speeding and driving into traffic.

Police allege the 65-year-old female driver was very confrontational during a traffic stop and the officer could smell alcohol.

She was arrested for impaired driving but refused to exit the vehicle and allegedly tried to bite an assisting officer.

The woman is charged with operating a motor vehicle while impaired and refusing to comply with a demand to supply a sample of breath.
