Sarnia man charged with impaired, dangerous driving in GTA

A 21-year-old Sarnia man, driving a pretty unique looking sports car, was arrested near Toronto Tuesday morning.

OPP Sgt. Kerry Schmidt said a Mercedes sports car, wrapped in a greenish-yellow iridescent coating, was parked on the westbound shoulder of Highway 401 near Highway 10 around 8 a.m. on February 5.

He said witnesses reported the vehicle, and alleged that its driver and a passenger were asleep inside.

Schmidt said when an MTO officer arrived to check it out, the vehicle took off.

He said given the vehicle's rare colour, it was easy for police to spot a short distance away in Mississauga.

Schmidt said the driver, who allegedly had a blood-alcohol level over 80, was arrested and charged with impaired driving and dangerous driving.
