Fentanyl busts at the bridge in Sarnia

U.S. Customs and Border Protection officers (CBP) seized $15,000 worth of Fentanyl at the Blue Water Bridge near Sarnia last month.

Officers in Port Huron recovered eight separate shipments of deadly Fentanyl in January weighing nearly 600 grams in total that were headed to cities throughout the U.S.

Border guards became suspicious when Canadian mail trucks did not match the manifested contents of the packages and sent them for inspection.

CBP said the packages each contained a white rock-like substance that tested positive for Fentanyl.

“Our officer’s commitment to serve and protect is constant and this is just one of the ways we are doing our part to stem the opioid crisis impacting our nation,” said Port Director Michael Fox.
