UPDATE: Driver killed in St. Clair Parkway crash

A 27-year-old man is dead after a single-vehicle crash Wednesday morning in St. Clair Township.

Lambton OPP said at around 2 a.m., a vehicle travelling south on St. Clair Parkway failed to negotiate a curve and slammed into a hydro pole, just south of Courtright Line.

Police said the driver, Christopher Michael Douglas of St. Clair Township, died in the crash.

Courtright firefighters and Lambton EMS also responded.

The OPP said a post mortem is expected and the cause of the collision is still under investigation.

The road was closed for about six hours between Courtright Line and Oil Springs Line while technical traffic investigators were on scene.
