UPDATE: Car slams into school bus

No students were injured when a car slammed into the back of a school bus just after 8 a.m. Thursday east of Petrolia.

The driver of the car was taken to hospital for observation and testing and later released.

The Petrolia and North Enniskillen Fire Department responded to Petrolia Line between Black Ash Road and Wanstead Road.

Chief Jay Arns said there was heavy fog at the time of the crash.

"We had extreme fog. Visibility was 25 feet in front of your car, and this was not a high-speed collision," said Arns. "That type of fog is difficult as best times, and we just appreciate when drivers slow down in those types of conditions."

Chief Arns said following the collision, Petrolia fire crews gave the three students a lift to school in their fire truck.
