UPDATE: Hwy. 402 reopened following fatal crash

Ontario Provincial Police are investigating a fatal crash early Monday morning on Highway 402.

Middlesex OPP and paramedics responded to the collision at around 2 a.m. near Glendon Drive.

Police said a grey SUV was travelling on the eastbound highway when it left the road, hit the overpass and came to rest in the centre median.

The lone female driver was pronounced dead at the scene.

The 402 highway was closed in both directions, between Hickory Drive and Longwoods Road, for about five hours while OPP Technical Collision Investigators were on scene.

The driver's name has not yet been released pending notification of next of kin.
