Younger generation urged to give back

The Canadian Cancer Society is looking for volunteers across Sarnia-Lambton to help with next month's daffodil campaign.

Community Coordinator Caroline Bekkers is encouraging a new generation to get involved.

"The vast majority of our volunteers are seniors, they do have the time, but as they age they aren't able to help us anymore," said Bekkers. "Life gets busy, and people always think, somebody else will do that. We have so many opportunities for families to volunteer together."

She said it's important to teach the younger generation to give back.

"Moms and dads and their kids, or grandparents with their grandkids, best friends, come out and volunteer as a group. It's more fun that way."

Bekkers said they need help canvassing door to door and people to cover two-hour shifts selling daffodil pins.
