Seniors information fair cancelled

A lack of sponsorship has forced the cancellation of this year's Seniors Information Fair, held annually at Point Edward Arena.

The event had been put on by the Lambton Seniors Association for the past 19 years, providing the elderly with the information they need to remain independent.

Chair Loretta Hodgin said the event will be missed, and is calling on sponsors to step forward.

"The plan is to re-evaluate the situation in the fall, and a decision will be made," said Hodgin. "We'd like to have it again because it would be our 20th anniversary in 2020."

Hodgin said they would typically see up to 2,000 seniors at the event with about 100 vendors on hand.

Those interested in being a sponsor can call the Lambton Seniors Association at 519-339-8866 or email lambtonseniors1@gmail.com.
