City police searching for masked robber

Sarnia police are looking for a masked man who robbed a Sarnia convenience store early Saturday morning.

Cst. John Sottosanti said at 4:40 a.m. a man entered the store at the intersection of Exmouth and Capel streets and approached the counter.

"The suspect was wearing a black hooded sweatshirt or jacket and was concealing his face with what was believed to be a mask," said Sottosanti. "The suspect is believed to be wearing ¾ high brown boots with white soles and laces which were not laced up."

Cst. Sottosanti said the suspect, believed to be a male, fled the store with a quantity of cash and was carrying some sort of tool.

He said the OPP Canine Unit helped in the search for the suspect, and officers were able to locate some evidence. No injuries were reported.
