New Point Edward Holiday Inn nearing completion

It's hoped the new Holiday Inn Express on Venetian Boulevard in Point Edward will open this summer.

Vrancor Hospitality's Karen McQuade said most of the exterior work is complete and crews are working on the hotel's interior now.

"We've made some significant progress, I expect the hotel to be open in the third quarter of 2019," said McQuade. "I think I'm very comfortable in saying the window is July to September."

She says they'll be hiring 22 people full time to work there.

The hotel has 110 guest rooms with contemporary features, free high-speed internet, smart plugs, mini fridges, microwaves and Keurig coffee makers.

It also has an indoor swimming pool, fitness centre and business centre with two meeting rooms.
