Nova Scotia brothers arrested after brawl with bouncers

Two brothers from Nova Scotia were arrested after a violent altercation with staff at a bar on Murphy Road in Sarnia late last week.

On Thursday, police said two men became upset when they were cut off.

After leaving the bar, police said they returned later in the night and a fight broke out with security when they were denied entry.

The doorman was punched several times and when other security tried to help, police said one of the men drew a knife and cut a worker. Another employee was struck but was able to knock the knife from the man's hand and subdue him.

Officers arrived a short time later and two suspects were taken into custody.

Kevin Wayne O'Brien, 37, is charged with two counts of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, carrying a concealed weapon, assault, and five counts of failing to comply with recognizance.

Jeremy James O'Brien, 33, is charged with two counts of assault, and one count of failing to comply with recognizance.

Both were held pending bail hearings.

One of the security officers required medical attention for knife wounds while two others sustained minor injuries.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
