Physician to assume Dr. Prendiville practice

The Physician Recruitment Taskforce has found a physician to take over the practice of Dr. William Prendiville who died suddenly March 25.

Recruitment Coordinator Carly Cox said Dr. Maria Steimbrecher will start looking after Dr. Prendiville's roster of patients starting May 1.

Dr. Steimbrecher has been providing primary care for over two years after completing her residency program at Queen's University in Kingston.

"She has kind of been floating around the GTA area and Kingston for a couple of years and just hadn't found a place that she wanted to plant her roots yet," said Cox. "We brought her down to Sarnia and she was just amazed with the beauty of the community. It was exactly what she was looking for and Prendiville's practice was a strong fit as well."

Dr. Steimbrecher is moving the practice from Mara Street in Point Edward to the London Road Diagnostic Clinic at 481 London Rd.

All of Dr. Prendiville's patients will be transferred.
