Sarnia family featured in dairy farmers commercial (VIDEO)

A Sarnia family is being featured in the latest Dairy Farmers of Ontario TV commercial.

Kevin and Melissa Forbes own and operate Forbesvue Farms on Waterworks Road.

They, along with their four kids, milk over 200 cows and grow various crops.

Kevin said the minute-long spot, which launched on Monday, is part of a new campaign trying to connect the producer to the consumer.

He said it can be seen mostly in the evenings on networks like Global, CTV, and City TV.

"It was a pretty crazy experience," said Forbes. "There were 60 to 80 people on set from 5 a.m. until 9 p.m. for a few days in a row. There was a lot of people, it was total chaos. It was a really neat experience but it made us appreciate what we do for a living, and that we're not cut out to be actors. We're extremely excited with the product. They brought in some really good directors and production crews to make sure it was a really well-done video. We're extremely happy with the product they're putting out."

The black and white commercial depicts a typical day on the farm, from milking cows to hauling hay and feeding calves.

Forbes said the family farm was chosen for the commercial out of 10 entries and included a four-hour interview and site tour.

He said their farm has been a staple in Lambton county for three generations.

They've hosted Breakfast on the Farm a few times in previous years.
