Spring clean-up of Sarnia parks and trails Saturday

Over 700 volunteers will fan out across the city Saturday for the 5th annual Community Parks Clean-Up Day.

Recreation coordinator Rachel Veilleux says city staff will join volunteers picking up trash at area parks, trails and public spaces, rain or shine.

"We've had groups that have registered their specific park or piece of trail," said Veilleux. "Anyone that is still interested in registering, that hasn't had a chance already, is welcome to join our clean up crew at Canatara Park."

Veilleux said they'll register people at 10 a.m. at the Area 1 Picnic Pavilion next to the Rotary playground equipment.

She said there will also be educational sessions and walks held at Canatara Park.

The clean-up is on until 12 p.m.
