Singh court case put over to late May

A Sarnia doctor charged in an alleged sexual assault dating back to 1982, will appear again in court late next month.

Legal counsel for 76-year-old Dr. Kunwar Singh appeared on his behalf in the Ontario Court of Justice Tuesday morning.

The matter was adjourned to May 28 to allow for ongoing resolution discussions between the Crown and Dr. Singh's lawyer, Stephen Darroch of Toronto.

Dr. Singh was arrested and charged in December with one count of indecent assault of a female that allegedly occurred during an assessment at a doctor's office in 1982.

The alleged victim was 15 at the time and is now 51.
