More than 1,000 anglers reeled in 1,622 fish during the 2019 Salmon Derby.
The 43rd annual event, which wrapped up Sunday, May 12, saw the second highest number of fish entered during the past 10 years.
Anglers from all over southwestern Ontario, as well as Nashville and Scotland, fished the waters of the upper St. Clair River and lower Lake Huron over the 10-day derby.
The awards night is May 22 at the Point Edward Optimist Hall -- doors will open at 6:45 p.m.
Over $45,000 will be handed out to the winners, including $5,000 to Robert Brunet for bringing in the biggest salmon.
The 43rd Annual 2019 Salmon Derby winners:
-Robert Brunet of Sarnia in the Salmon category with a 19.01 lb. Salmon.
-Brian Dubreuil of Sarnia in the Trout - Boat category with a 9.90 lb. Rainbow Trout.
-Harry Harris of Sarnia in the Trout - Shore category with a 7.40 lb. Rainbow Trout.
-Justin Tadgell of Grand Bend in the Lake Trout category with a 20.36 lb. Lake Trout.
-Tammy Milne of Lambton Shores in the Walleye category with a 7.56 lb. Walleye.
-Evan Hanington of Ailsa Craig is the Kids Big Fish winner with a 15.44 lb. Salmon.
-Lisa Tadgell of Port Franks is the Ladies Day winner with a 14.92 lb. Lake Trout.
-Ed Oelke of London is the Seniors Day winner with a 14.86 lb. Lake Trout.
-The Bonus Draw #1 winner, sponsored by The Outdoorsman, is Andrew Rae of Port Franks.
-The Bonus Draw #2 winner, sponsored by Waypoint 04 Tuna Charters PEI, is Jeff Smith of London.
-The Bluewater Anglers Members Only Draw winner, sponsored by Canadian Tire Lambton Mall, is Brad Hall of Sarnia.
-The Lake Trout Only Draw winner, sponsored by Action Fishing Adventures, is Mitchell Geerts of Strathroy.
-The President's Draw winner, sponsored by the Bluewater Anglers, is Homer VanderVecht of Ingersoll.
