Cannabis facility proposed in Warwick

A facility licenced for the cultivation, processing, and sale of cannabis is under consideration in Warwick Township.

The proposal, from a numbered company called 111 Canada Ltd., requires the rezoning of mixed commercial/industrial space in the municipality's industrial park.

Administrator/Clerk Amanda Gubbels said the amendment would add "cannabis facility" to the list of permitted uses for the property at 7909 Jariott St.

She said the township is hosting a public meeting in late July.

"Certainly, there will be written comment forms and our staff will be taking feedback and answering questions at the meeting," said Gubbels. "Anyone could also submit any comments in writing to myself at the Township of Warwick and we would ensure all comments be considered as part of this evaluation."

The meeting is set for July 29 at 3:30 p.m. upstairs at the Watford Arena.

Written comments can be emailed to Amanda at agubbels@warwicktownship.ca.
