No livestock lost in dairy farm fire

Firefighters had to battle a dairy farm fire in Warwick Township in Saturday's extreme heat and humidity.

Watford Station Chief Rick Sitlington said they responded along with Warwick and Alvinston fire crews to Underpass Road, between Confederation Line and Churchill Line.

"It was a dairy barn with cattle inside," said Sitlington. "There was actually no loss to the cattle. The guys were able to get it under control rather quickly."

Lambton OPP closed area roads early Saturday afternoon.

Chief Sitlington said the exact cause isn't known yet, but it's not believed to be suspicious.

There were no injuries and a damage estimate wasn't immediately available.
