Dogs set to strut at Humane Society fashion fundraiser

The sixth annual Unleashed dog fashion show is taking place Saturday on the lawn at Stokes Bay.

The Sarnia and District Humane Society's fundraiser benefits animals in their care while trying to get the dogs into a forever home.

The dogs will strut on a 100-foot runway along with human models wearing clothes from local retailers.

Event co-ordinator Trista Lowe said they're always really busy with new animals during the summer.

"All of the money that's raised goes directly to the animals in our care," said Lowe. "During the summer months, we can blow through a whole lot of money really fast because of the intake over the course of the summer. It is high-intake season for us, so these summer events are crucial to get us through the summer months."

The show begins at 8 p.m. and there's a dance party afterwards featuring DJ Phatfingers.

There will also be performances by Kira-Jade Nixon, Bill Eldridge, and Nick Hedden.

Tickets for the 19 plus event are $30 and can be purchased at the humane society, and at Stokes Bay.
