Heat warning issued for Sarnia-Lambton

Environment Canada has issued a heat warning for Sarnia-Lambton heading into the weekend.

The weather agency says a hot and humid air mass will make its way into the area for the weekend into Monday.

Daytime maximum temperatures of 31 C are expected along with overnight low temperatures of 21 C, providing little relief from the heat.

There may be some relief from the heat on Sunday as showers or thunderstorms are possible.

A slightly cooler air mass is expected to arrive on Tuesday.

We're reminded that extreme heat affects everyone, and we're urged to drink plenty of water and stay in a cool place.

Never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.

Heat warnings are issued when very high temperature or humidity conditions are expected to pose an elevated risk of heat illnesses, such as heat stroke or heat exhaustion.
