Video surveillance released in variety store hold up

Sarnia police have released video surveillance hoping the public can help identify the suspect of an armed robbery at a convenience store Monday.

A male, brandishing a large knife, entered the Circle K convenience store at the corner of Exmouth and Capel Streets around 5 a.m.

The suspect demanded money from the clerk and is believed to have fled the scene on foot with a small amount of cash.

Sarnia police and the OPP canine unit searched the area, but were unsuccessful in locating the suspect.

The suspect is described as being five foot five inches, wearing a black hoodie, coloured shorts and a baseball cap. His face was covered with a black mask.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
