Drugs, stolen property seized in traffic stop

Lambton OPP officers have seized drugs and suspected stolen property following a traffic stop in Point Edward on Wednesday afternoon.

Police stopped the vehicle around 1:40 p.m. on Venetian Boulevard for highway traffic act offences. A search turned up stolen property and narcotics, a passenger provided police with a fake name.

Two 31-year-olds from Wallaceburg and Dawn-Euphemia and a 62-year-old from Sarnia are now charged with possession of a schedule one substance, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000. The Wallaceburg man is also charged with personation to avoid arrest, and obstructing a peace officer.

All were remanded in custody pending bail hearings.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
