Financially strapped boys' home receives boost

The financially struggling Huron House Boys' Home has received a boost from Sarnia's Home Depot.

The store raised $3,463 for the Bright's Grove home, through its Orange Door Project campaign.

The Home Depot Canada Foundation started the fundraiser with the goal of eliminating homelessness in Canada, and has pledged $50 million by 2022.

The local store was one of 182 across the country taking part.

The Huron House Boys Home is licensed for 28 beds, but currently only receives government funding for six.
