Braves claim Ontario championship with walkoff win (VIDEO)

The Sarnia Braves are provincial champions for a third time in franchise history.

The Braves beat the Thornhill Reds 1-0 Monday in Windsor to claim the 2019 Ontario AAA Men's Championship.

Sarnia scored the only run of the game on a passed ball in the seventh and final inning.

The Braves finished the tournament 6-1 and will now head to the Senior Men’s Nationals in Miramichi, New Brunswick August 22 to 25.

Sarnia previously won the Ontario AAA Championships in 1959 and 1994.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
