Lambton Public Health looking for dog that bit boy

Lambton Public Health is trying to find a dog and its owner after a 12-year-old boy was bitten in Bright's Grove Tuesday night.

The health unit said the incident occurred at around 8 p.m. between Skeeter Barlow's Grill & Bar and Kenwick Park.

The dog is medium-sized, black/brown, possibly a Rottweiler or Rottweiler mix. It was leashed and being walked by a girl and young woman.

The victim did not get any contact information for the owner.

Anyone with information about the dog and its owner is asked to contact Lambton Public Health at 519-383-8331 or toll-free at 1-800-667-1839.

If the dog is not found to verify its health status, the boy will require post-exposure rabies shots.
