Aamjiwnaang holding community consultation on cannabis law

Aamjiwnaang First Nation is holding a community consultation meeting Monday to help shape a proposed draft cannabis law.

In a notice to band members, chief and council said they've received numerous reports from Aamjiwnaang members about incidents in the community.

They said they're working diligently with their legal team and respective committees to develop a cannabis law for the First Nation.

Laws developed by other First Nation communities are also being looked at.

A meeting is set for 5 p.m. August 12 at Maawn Doosh Gumig Community and Youth Centre to hear community concerns and gather input.
