One of two men charged in a brazen armed robbery of a Sarnia bank July 28 has been released from custody.
Mushin Abdirazak Aden, 23, of Mississauga was granted $30,000 bail Wednesday after a two hour hearing at Sarnia courthouse.
Following arguments from the Crown and defence lawyer Ken Marley, Justice of the Peace Helen Gale granted what she described as a "tight release."
Among the terms and conditions of the release, Aden was given house arrest, he is to stay in the presence of a surety when outside the home unless travelling to or from school or work, he is not to enter Lambton County or Middlesex County unless meeting with his lawyer, and he is to have no communication with the co-accused, Hassan Ali.
The two men are charged with robbery using a firearm, disguise with intent, dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, flight from police, and possession of property obtained by crime under $5,000.
The court was told Aden has no prior criminal record and no outstanding matters. He is to appear again September 24.
Ali, 21, also from the Mississauga-Etobicoke area, made a brief video appearance in Sarnia court Wednesday morning where his matter was adjourned to August 21 to retain counsel.
The robbery of the TD Canada Trust on London Road resulted in suspects being chased to London where two people were critically injured when a police vehicle collided with a taxi.
