Brooke-Alvinston fire investigation continues

Damage is estimated at $150,000 following a weekend house fire in Brooke-Alvinston.

Brooke Fire Rescue Chief Jeff McArthur said the Alvinston and Inwood stations were called to a structure fire on Nauvoo Road, north of Lasalle Line, just after 6 p.m. Saturday.

"Crews arrived to a fully involved house fire, smoke and flames both showing," said McArthur. "The fire was extinguished, there were no injuries."

McArthur said it was a two-storey, detached, older farmhouse.

"The one end of the house did receive significant fire damage, where the other end of the house was kept to mainly water and smoke damage," he said.

McArthur said Watford firefighters assisted with the call.

An investigation into the cause continues.
