UPDATE: Tractor trailer crash shuts down 402 WB in Sarnia

A tractor trailer crash shut down the westbound lanes of Highway 402 in Sarnia Tuesday afternoon.

West Region OPP said the crash, involving three transport trucks blocking two lanes just east of Christina Street, happened at 12:10 p.m.

Lambton OPP closed all westbound lanes of the highway at Indian Road for emergency services to respond and clean up the crash.

All four lanes were reopened to westbound traffic by mid-afternoon.

In a news release, Cst. Adam Crewdson said no serious injuries were reported to police, three people were taken to hospital as a precaution and charges were pending the completion of the investigation.

Anyone who witnessed the collision and has yet to speak with police is asked to contact the OPP at 1-888-310-1122.

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
