Charges laid in 402 transport crash (GALLERY)

A 25-year-old transport driver from Scarborough has been charged in connection with a chain reaction collision on Highway 402 Tuesday.

Lambton OPP said two transport trucks were stopped in the westbound lanes just east of Christina Street when a third transport struck the rear transport at around 12:10 p.m.

Three people were taken to hospital, including a passenger who suffered non-life threatening injuries.

The driver of the third transport is charged with careless driving causing bodily harm or death.

The crash forced the highway to be closed to traffic for several hours while the scene was cleared.
