Four young aspiring entrepreneurs were recognized with certificates Tuesday for participating in the Sarnia-Lambton Economic Partnership's Summer Company Program.
Development Coordinator Chantelle Core said students aged 15 to 29 are given the opportunity to experience entrepreneurship with minimal risk.
"The idea behind the program is they can experience entrepreneurship while they're still a student, go on and continue their education," said Core. "Most likely they experience a few years in a career and they know down the road when they have a great idea that they have the confidence to jump into entrepreneurship again."
16-year-old Logan Forbes used the program to launch a company called Curb Appeal.
"I focus on edging and making someone's house have a better curb appeal," said Forbes. "If it was for sale, get more buyers bidding on it."
The Summer Company Program provides funding and guidance in all aspects of starting a business including capital needs, marketing and advertising.
The other three participants in the 2019 program included Ethan Kember of Kember Web Development, Brooke Lauwers' company called Brooke Clean 'n' Stuff, and Lush Lashes by Colleen Van Damme.
