Weir to help get Sting season in full swing

Bright's Grove golf star Mike Weir will hit the ice later this month to help the Sarnia Sting begin their 2019-2020 campaign.

Weir will drop the puck at the team's home opener September 20 versus Hamilton.

The 2003 Masters Champion will also be raising awareness and funds for his foundation's mental health initiative, which aims to raise at least $400,000 for a youth mental health facility in Sarnia-Lambton.

Before the game, Weir will be signing autographs, taking pictures and meeting with fans from 5:30 to 6:30 PM outside the main gate (Gate 5) of the Progressive Auto Sales Arena. The event will also include music, games, food and drinks.

The Sting will honour Weir with a video tribute prior to puck drop.
