Pedestrian suffers minor injuries in crash

Minor injuries are reported after a pedestrian was struck by a vehicle early Thursday morning.

Sarnia police said at about 4:45 a.m., officers responded to a collision at the intersection of London Road and Pontiac Court.

Police said a vehicle headed east on London Road struck a woman crossing in the crosswalk, while making a left turn on to Pontiac Court.

She was taken to hospital for observation, treated and released.

A 65-year-old Sarnia woman is charged with failing to yield right of way to a pedestrian within a crosswalk.

New military crosswalk in Sarnia to be unveiled

As part of a partnership between the Sarnia Legion Branch 62 and City of Sarnia, an unveiling ceremony will be held at the corner of Christina Street and Wellington Street on Sunday, June 7, at 2 p.m.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
