Lambton's oldest fall fair kicks off Friday

Lambton county's oldest and longest consecutive running fall fair kicks off Friday night in Plympton-Wyoming.

This year marks the 173rd edition of the popular event.

Agricultural Society President Gary Atkinson said the fun gets underway at 7 p.m. at the fairgrounds.

"We have our ambassador contest, and we have our famous pie auction which the proceeds go to CEE Hospital in Petrolia," said Atkinson. "We have Crystal Gage, a country music performer, and following that to wrap up our hot night we have Snakebite. They're hard-hitting rock and roll country band that'll out in the barn dance."

Saturday's activities start at 10 a.m. and include inflatables, a petting zoo, light horse show, parade, beef and dairy expo, and comedy show.

On Sunday, the Lions breakfast gets underway at 9 a.m., there's also a heavy horse show, antique tractor pull, pet show, wrestling and more.
