'Move Over Dover' motorcycle event Friday

Hundreds of motorcycles are expected to descend on Ipperwash on Friday, for Bikefest.

Over 600 people have indicated on a Facebook page that they plan on attending the Ipperwash Beach Club event, while over 4,000 are interested in going.

The full-day event, nicknamed Move Over Dover, is aimed at competing with Ontario's largest one-day Friday the 13th motorcycle event that sees thousands of bikers visit Port Dover.

Lambton OPP said in a news release Thursday there will be an increased police presence at Ipperwash for the event and through the weekend.

Cst. Katie Hill said officers will be assisting with traffic control for both vehicles and pedestrians.

She said the OPP will have zero-tolerance when it comes to improper possession of alcoholic beverages and impaired drivers.

Two men arrested in Tashmoo Ave. standoff

Sarnia police said the investigation began on May 29 after the victim was allegedly attacked by acquaintances at a residence near Tashmoo Avenue and Christopher Drive at Aamjiwnaang First Nation.
