'Max's Minions' raised thousands in a few short weeks

The memory of a two-year-old Thedford boy has not only touched thousands of people, it has raised thousands of dollars.

About $48,000 has been raised so far in memory of Max Rombouts, who died earlier this year after a battle with leukemia.

People from across Ontario visited the Brian Schoonjan's farm over the last several weeks, snapping pictures in the bright yellow field and leaving a donation in Max's memory.

Schoonjan said the field will stay open until September 22.

He said the final tally of funds raised will be announced in October along with which charity the money will be donated to.
