Local Kidney Walk far surpasses goal

Organizers of Sunday's Sarnia-Lambton Kidney Walk say they surpassed their goal by more than $8,000.

The 16th annual fundraiser saw over 140 walkers in Canatara Park and brought in over $48,000 for the Kidney Foundation of Canada, the sixth-highest total in the province in 2019.

Kidney Foundation Executive Director Elaine Hayter said Rhonda Noll's team, Gramma's Little Helper, led the way, raising more than $15,000.

Sarnia-Lambton has now raised roughly $350,000 to date. Donations are still being accepted.
