Plympton-Wyoming fire truck crashes en route to call

Five Plympton-Wyoming firefighters were sent to hospital after the department's pumper engine crashed on the way to a car fire Tuesday morning.

Fire Chief Steve Clemens said Lambton OPP called them to London Line east of Oil Heritage Road around 8:45 a.m.

"The OPP investigation did result in us not being able to put out the fire right away," said Clemens. "But, we were eventually able to put out the fire so that incident is complete and we're just finishing up the investigation on that truck accident now."

Clemens said the firefighters suffered minor injuries, and no other vehicles were involved.

The Ministry of Labour is investigating and no further details have been made available.
